If you are buying a car from a dealership or a private seller, the car shipping company cannot drop of the payment for you.

Carriers cannot take any form of payment such as checks, cash, etc. to pay a seller, dealer, or auction when a vehicle is picked up. You must arrange for these payments before sending the carrier.

Carriers will however pay some storage fees out of pocket from time to time and will expect reimbursement for those fees in cash or certified funds and the time of delivery.
