Feel the Warmth Food Drive

Executive Auto Shippers Annual Food Drive

No one should go without a warm meal, especially during the holiday season. That’s exactly what motivated one of our team members to start a food drive. When she shared this passion with us at one of our weekly staff meetings, we gladly supported her and helped start and sponsor the Feel the Warmth Food Drive. Each year between Thanksgiving and Christmas, we place donation boxes around town at other organizations to collect canned goods, non-perishable items, and personal items. Once a week, we collect the items and take them to the local food pantry, the PCM Food Pantry in Monroe, Iowa. We are glad to help provide for those in the community in this small way!

2018 Food Drive

Planning for our 3rd Annual Feel The Warmth food drive is well underway. Our collection boxes will be available from November 26th, through December 20th. It looks like most of the organizations that took part last year will be doing their part again this year. So if you are in the Monroe or Prairie City areas be sure to watch for the boxes wrapped in holiday paper! More specific announcements will be made closer to the starting date.

2017 Food Drive

A huge Thank You to all of our partners, as we have been able to add several new drop-off locations this year. If you are at any of the following locations, please be sure to make a donation and also thank the organization for taking part in this awesome event.

Monroe, Iowa Locations:

  • Monroe Foods
  • Mustang Diner
  • Subway
  • Casey’s (North)
  • PCM High School
  • PCM Elementary School
  • Monroe Public Library
  • Monroe Post Office

Prairie City, Iowa Locations:

  • Prairie City Foods
  • PCM Middle School

Although we accept all donations during the 4 weeks, each week has its own theme:

Nov 27–Dec 1 Canned/Dry Foods (vegetables, rice, pasta)

Week one turned out to be a great way to start off. Our collection was already larger than any from the previous year.

Dec 4–8 Toiletries (toothpaste, toilet paper, deodorant)

Week 2 started a trend of each weeks donations growing. Thankfully the PCM Middle School student council chose to join our food drive and make it a part of their community outreach program.

Dec 11–15 Soups/Boxed Meals (like Hamburger Helper)

Week 3 kept the growth trend going. Believe it or not, this is just what would fit on the table.

Dec 18–22 Dessert/Drink Mixes (Kool-Aid, box cake mix)

Week 4 was a very strong finish to this year’s food drive. Again we were able to surpass the quantity of donations from the previous week. The PCM Middle School students achieved their goal of over 400 items donated!

Thank you to all of our partners and the communities of Monroe and Prairie City for giving to help someone have a better holiday season.

2016 Food Drive

Each week we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of support. Between our staff’s generosity and that of the community, we were able to fill our collection table and take boxes to the PCM Food Pantry each week!
